augmented HYPERBODIES

With the immersive dance film “augmented HYPERBODIES” bücking&kröger apply elements of augmented reality to their artistic practice around movement, dance and choreography.

The starting point is the production “HYPERBODIES,” which premiered in 2019 and examined phenomena of pathos, turgidity, and exaggeration. How does pathos manifest itself in the body? How are pathetic body images produced and how can they be disempowered? Rebuilt, curved, overcharged bodies are transformed, gradually tilt out of their form and dissolve into oversized pompous structures: HYPERBODIES. On screen, they reveal their attracting effect – and at the same time are exposed in it.
